About Us
Topeka, KS is fortunate to have Hill's Bark Park. In 1999, the bark park
was founded to provide a spacious, secure area for dogs to run and play
leash free. Many improvements have been made since its establishment
to make it a more enjoyable place for both canine pals and their owners.

There are two separate fenced-in areas with double gated entrances for
small and large breed dogs. Inside each area there are picnic tables,
chairs, benches, water facilities, pet waste stations, and dog toys. There
is a paved parking lot and a donor brick patio area that lead patrons to the
gated areas.

To ensure the safety of the dogs and people who use the facility, a set of
Bark Park rules have been established to provide order. Those rules are
posted at each entry gate, as well as on this website. In addition, the City
of Topeka's dog ordinances also apply to the Bark Park because it is
located in a public city park.

This wonderful, dog-friendly place would not have been made possible
without the help of the City of Topeka Parks and Recreation, Hill's Pet
Nutrition Inc., Topeka Police Department's Animal Control Unit, Friends of
Hill's Bark Park Association, local businesses/organizations as well as
Hill's Bark Park participants.

What was once an old, abandoned softball diamond has turned into a
playground for dogs. Bark Park's across America are gaining popularity
and Hill's Bark Park in Topeka is no exception.
Friends of Hill's Bark Park Association is a volunteer organization focused on
promoting and improving Hill's Bark Park. We serve in an advisory capacity to the
City of Topeka Parks and Recreation Department in matters regarding Hill's Bark
Park.

Hill's Bark Park Association holds an open, bimonthly meeting on the second
Wednesday of that month at Snyder's Cabin in Gage Park. All dog lovers are
encouraged to attend and help us make a great dog park. See
NEWS to find out
about the upcoming meeting/activities planned for the Bark Park.

We are seeking donations from individuals and business to help us build one of the
best dog parks in the USA. We are currently raising money for improvements to the
park, some of the improvements include - new lighting, more sidewalks, a covered
shelter and a storage shed.
